Morley self-performed concrete services for LA Plaza Village – a 425,000 sf mixed-use complex located in the historic core of Los Angeles near Union Station, Chinatown, El Pueblo, and the Civic Core/City Hall. The project consists of four buildings ranging from 5-7 stories tall and provides 355 multifamily units and 720 subterranean parking spaces. Approximately 20% of the units are dedicated to affordable housing. More than 40,000 sf of retail options provide exciting options for residents and visitors.
Significant features include the creation of a landscaped historic paseo connecting to La Plaza de Cultura y Artes Museum, Olvera Street, and Union Station. Amenities include open community spaces, a dog park, arcade, multiple roof decks and gardens, bike shop, fitness center, and a pool and spa. LA Plaza also includes a restaurant with rooftop dining, a teaching kitchen, and the Cesar Chavez Foundation (CCF) office. The project is anchored by a centuries-old sycamore tree located in the gathering space of this culturally significant development, connecting the old with the new.
The project opened in Summer 2019 and achieved LEED Silver certification.
