Brick and Machine is a 156,000-square-foot new Type IIB, three- to four-story core and shell office building, over three levels of subterranean parking, located in downtown Culver City. The project includes 60,000 square feet of office space, 15,000 square feet of ground floor retail and restaurant space, and parking for 215 cars. The creative office space is designed to incorporate a reception/lounge, war rooms, open workstations, specialty rooms, and a break room. An indoor/outdoor effect was created through the internal courtyard, diffusing natural light and ventilation, and a rooftop terrace garden with outdoor dining.
Morley Construction Company provided concrete subcontracting services for the project, totaling 10,122 cubic yards of concrete. Scope of work included mat foundation, elevated decks, and columns.
