Pacific Beacon Bachelor Enlisted Quarters

Pacific Beacon Bachelor Enlisted Quarters

Pacific Beacon is a development for the US Navy to provide housing for enlisted servicemen stationed at the 32nd Street Naval Base in San Diego. The massive project consisted of the simultaneous construction of four 18-story cast-in-place concrete apartment buildings. In total, the residential towers provide 941 two-bedroom apartments with a 9th-floor sky terrace, stadium theater, fitness center, game rooms, a Wi-Fi café, and a rooftop pool and spa.

Morley Construction Company provided concrete subcontracting services for the project. To construct the towers, which total 1.5 million square feet of usable space, approximately 68,000 cubic yards of concrete was placed in only 15 months. Morley formed, placed, and finished 40,000 square feet of elevated deck every five days in order to maintain the rigorous schedule.
