The renovations for Dodger Stadium elevated this iconic and historic center to a world-class Major League Baseball venue. Morley Construction Company provided concrete subcontracting services including foundations and slab-on-grade for newly expanded areas beyond both bullpens featuring new team stores and concession stands. Stadium amenities include several new food options, two new outdoor covered bars, and new seating and lounging areas with railings overlooking both bullpens. The project included the expansion and renovation of the visiting team clubhouse, previously one of the smallest in the majors, near the visitor’s dugout and adjacent to the batting tunnel and conditioning area.
Challenges included the ability to provide services in multiple areas of the ballpark simultaneously, while coordinating the work around other consultants’ schedules. The project had a tight schedule in order to be ready in time for the season-opening game. Adapting quickly to design changes and an ever-changing environment was a necessary skill set.
